Superheroes: Übermensch Elites;
Living Their Own Morality
I wish to begin this discussion with a l-o-n-g quote from Friedrich Nietzsche: “God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it?” {Friedrich Nietzsche Quotes. Goodreads.}. Writing at the dawn of the Progressive Era, I believe Nietzsche saw the rise of the Oligarchs, ruling elites, uncontrolled by biblical constraints. This filtered down to the masses in the form of super beings created to save them from these hidden oligarchs. Instead, these super beings were controlled by the oligarchs to save, read Control, the masses.
Volumes have been written about the links between Nietzsche’s Übermensch and Herr Hitler’s Nazism; essentially because both were Germanic(ish). I believe this to be a misdirection to keep your attention from the true manipulators who arose shortly after Nietzsche’s musings. While Nietzsche mourned the loss of God’s morality as the fabric that kept Man in check, he, like the oligarchs, despised being part of the masses. The egalitarians!

When God created Man, and from Man, Woman; He made them interdependent (Ge 2:20-24). However, sinful Man yearns for Control and will not succumb to those considered inferior exemplified by Cain’s {Given of God to rule} murder of Abel {Worthless One} (Ge 4:3-12). Did Cain learn from his horrific deed? No, he developed society ruled by elites that nearly conquered the Antediluvian world before God intervened (Ge 6:5-7). Postdiluvian Man walked the same path of elites ruling over the masses at Babel requiring God to again intervene (Ge 11:1-9). The lands had been separated by waters and the people separated by different understandings. History is simply Man’s efforts to return to a one government state ruled by the Oligarch elites under the tutelage of one ruler. Then along came the Greeks to begin to remove religion via philosophy.
Plato despised and feared democracy, rule of the majority, as the last step to oligarchy, rule of the few. Democracy, code word for equality, simple leads to confusion because the masses are not properly educated in the philosophies to properly lead. This confusion allows the rise of a smaller, but similarly uncultured group to arise and amass Control: The Oligarchs or rule by the few. Plato promoted the rule of the Philosopher-King which today we would call the Tyrant or Dictator. Hellenistic democracy ruled through only 20% or so of society with the remainder being enfranchised; hence, it would not be considered democratic by today’s standards. While America’s Founders feared democracy, opting instead for a republic, rule by the educated elites; France devolved into the democracy Plato feared ending with the rise of Napoleon; French Revolution. The ensuing conflict between which elites would rule inspired European philosophers and framed the 20th century world wars. But what of the masses? Modern society required their services and some education to work the industrial machinery required for Control.

Unsurprisingly it comes from the French for equal or equality, one of the guiding principles of the French Revolution. It was egalitarianism that moved the masses to become the canon fodder that toppled one elitism, monarchy, with another elitism, The Committee on Public Safety that eventually gave way to Napoleon who eventually was defeated by English elitism. Hegel’s interpretation of these movements inspired subsequent philosophers such as Marx and Nietzsche. Nietzsche sought to rise above the egalitarian masses believing. like Plato (somewhat), in the philosopher-elite or übermensch who could define their own morality apart from any biblical constraints. This is just what the financier elites needed to justify their Progressive Era agenda of Control that defined the Twentieth Century”s World and Regional Wars. However, the egalitarian masses were inspired by their enlarged view of the world and empowered by their increased wealth from industrialization. To quoter from a post World War I lament, “How Ya Gonna Keep ’em Down on the Farm (After They’ve Seen Paree)?“

Against Hidden Evil Powers of Control
Superheroes sprang from the egalitarian masses as either intentional or unintentional propaganda featuring meta-humans who would take God’s place to preserve egalitarianism in the face of hidden pervasive evil at work in the world, and later in the universe. Oligarchs quickly used these heroes to fight against whomever their current targets, er, enemies were whether Nazis, Japanese, Communists, criminals and even, gasp, racists of all approved ilks. These heroes ranged from very smart, strong people like Batman to alternative evolutionary offshoots like Aquaman and Wonder Woman to aliens like omnipotent Superman and finally promoting Trans- and Posthumanism like Cyborg. They focused people’s attention from the Oligarchs true intentions to fictional issues guiding their expectations into acceptable channels. This became more easily accomplished when these heroes moved from children’s comics to movie serials to television to cartoons and finally to mainstream adult movie entertainment. Propaganda was always the same; these Nietzsche-like Übermensch with their own morality and priorities took time to fight for the masses.

While early superheroes were decentralized, later ones became somewhat centralized and more drawn from the masses like Captain America, Spiderman, Fantastic Four and Hulk to name a few. Under evolutionary scientism anyone could be an Übermensch. There was hope that everyone could be übermensch! The Oligarchs held out this hope as simply another means of Control. Like President Snow said in the Hunger Games series, “Hope, it is the only thing stronger than fear. A little hope is effective, a lot of hope is dangerous.” The Oligarchs job: Contain the Hope lest Chaos erupts. But, Chaos is coming because the more the Oligarchs promote a morality apart from God the move they advance Chaos (Ro 1:18-28). Oh, and God is not dead; that is their illusion (Col 1:15-20).
Truth is, God’s morality is written in each person; it is the inner witness that God exists. Violating this morality results in guilt warning you of sin and coming accountability (Zeph 1:17-18; He 10:26-27). The übermensch with their own self-defined morality is a lie; they exchange good for evil to make evil as good and encourage you to do the same; hence, Wokeness and LGBTQAI+! The Oligarchs want to live without recrimination and want you to believe you can do the same. However, if this is the case then why are the prisons so full of those who believe and live the message? Why do the Oligarchs make increasingly draconian laws while promising übermensch moral liberty?
There are no superheroes or meta-humans to save you from the sin within or God’s judgment without. The Oligarchs are simply projecting shadows on your mind distracting you from your plight so you do not turn to Christ for salvation {Plato’s’ The Cave} (Is 6:9-11; 2Th 2:3-12). Those who are saved return to bring the message of His hope of life but are rejected, beaten and even killed. People refuse to leave the darkness, violence, degradation and chains of sin (1Pe 4:1-5, 12-19). Superhero übermensch is not hope but, as Admiral Ackbar warned: “It’s a trap!” {Apologies to Star Wars}. Only in Christ is there true egalitarianism where there is neither slave nor free, male nor female but all are united in Christ alone (Ga 3:25-29).
