Deconstructing the “Melting Pot”

Sin produces division based on bias and
Prejudice; Postmodernism codifies bias

Bias and prejudice did not begin at the Tower of Babel when God miraculously divided one unified society into at least three distinct groups who then separated from each other (Ge 11:1-9). Bias and prejudice were present at the first sin when Man blamed God and Woman; Woman blamed the Dragon and the Dragon blamed no one, at least directly (Ge 3:8-19). Today bias and prejudice are becoming codified both philosophically  and legally legitimizing both as weapons against shared problem solving. America self-described itself as a melting pot {a place where a variety of races, cultures, or individuals assimilate into a cohesive whole} of cultures as a means to end the near constant European warfare based on cultural differences. Today this approach is being rejected in favor of permanent but artificial divisions designed to promote violence based on bias and prejudice.

Bias, a particular tendency, trend, inclination, feeling, or opinion, especially one that is preconceived or unreasoned; and prejudice, unreasonable feelings, opinions, or attitudes, especially of a hostile nature, regarding an ethnic, racial, social, or religious group are becoming codified as the norm among self-described minority groups. Postmodernism, especially with the introduction of Critical Theory and Critical Racial Theory, rejected the continued blending of the various cultural groups that settled in America seeking to form a homogeneous culture benefiting from the introduction of new and diverse viewpoints enriching the experience of all peoples. Critical Theory {See: Backbone of Social Justice: Critical Theory} repudiating the blending of cultures because this produced equality of opportunity to better one’s self and family which were still being denied based on rigid class structure held over from the Medieval period. Critical Theory proponents quietly advocated international socialism which depended on class and cultural frictions to pit various groups against each other to achieve equality of outcome; i.e., demanding that everyone be the same or governmental forced redistribution of wealth that would promote a dependent society or a return to rigid class serfdom. During the development of these socialistic forces in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, new vocabulary was constantly being introduced to justify these divisive methodologies. We will look at several of these verbal gymnastic attempts to maintain cultural divisions to fight over the governmental redistribution pie.

The favorite tactic of Critical Theory
Proponents: Link Everything to Racism

Since World War II, racism became the catchall phrase to demonize the opposition. People use this word without thought or clarity. They believe they have achieved the high moral ground by accusing opponents of this practice. However, racism cannot be practiced among mankind since there is only one race! All have descended from Adam and Eve and bare the mark of fallen Adam in their sin nature (Ro 5:18-19). Racism is actually a scientism, false knowledge, stemming from the advancement of evolution and codified in Darwin’s works to explain why the White race, neither white nor a separate race, was superior to the other races: Oriental or Yellow and Negroid or Black, again skin pigmentation is not indicative of race. This nonsense swept through the intelligentsia of Western cultures, particularly America and Hitler’s Germany in the form eugenics and other practices. Thus, the use of this term, racism, is non sequitur and should be rejected. There are cultural differences and when cultures collide sinful man’s proclivity for violence, hallmark of sin, is manifested. No culture is innocent of wrongs against other cultures; however, two wrongs do not a right especially in the distant past. This is exactly where Critical Theory proponents struck with new verbiage to maintain and deepen divisions; enter, cultural appropriation.

Cultural Appropriation is the erection of
Barriers to Prevent Cultural Appreciation

Cultural Appropriation is the unacknowledged or inappropriate adoption of the customs, practices, ideas, etc. of one people or society by members of another and typically more dominant people or society. Notice what is left unstated; who determines cultural misappropriation? This implies an authority outside of culture that determines which cultural elements cannot be absorbed by other cultures. This bar to cultural integration forces rigid separation prevent each culture from sharing elements that could enrich all participants. This is not to legitimize the use of cultural elements to demean or denigrate other cultures but this is the way of sinful people who will always be in every society. Rather than act as a means to cultural growth and enrichment, cultural appropriation encourages covetousness and selfish protection that prevents enrichment while promoting division and violence. Since Christ promoted unity of diverse cultures in the body, Church, this promotion of divisions must come from Satan (Jo 8:44; 1Co 12:12-27).

Having created the cultural appropriation barrier, Critical Theory proponents also created a barrier to prevent one from being educated by the offended culture known as Epistemic Exploitation. Essentially this states that it is unreasonable to enter into dialogue with the offended cultural group asking for clarification. This is redefined as a form of work exploitation or slavery whose sole design is to prevent cultural clashes through mutual dialogue and sharing of views to promote mutual understanding. Obviously, this was developed to promote division and mistrust between the various cultural elements of societies.

Finally, the use of kafkatrapping. This is essentially a damned if you do and a damned if you don’t self-fulfilling condemnation. For example: “One very notable pathology is a form of argument that, reduced to essence, runs like this: “Your refusal to acknowledge that you are guilty of {sin, racism, sexism, homophobia, oppression…} confirms that you are guilty of {sin, racism, sexism, homophobia, oppression…}.” If you are accused of racism and you deny racism, this becomes proof that you are racist. Thus, you are guilty regardless and coupled with epistemic exploitation you cannot even ask why you are considered racist. Basically, you are a racist, or homophobe or Islamaphobe, etc. simply by existing as a member of a different group.

Cultural Appropriation and Epistemic
Exploitation are to reshape the world

Sinful man and Satan seek to reshape the world according to their heart’s desire; without God and thus filled with division, violence and hopelessness (Je 17:9; Ro 1:18-32). The terms discussed in this post are only a few of the Fertile Fallacies used to support the Reflexive of International Socialism; or Open Societies as they self-define themselves {The Fertile Fallacy: Today’s Term You Need to Know}. Their view of an open society is international socialism run by a very select elite supported by majority of serfs; i.e., outcome equality. The price of this utopian society? Complete rejection of the Gospel message leaving all to die in their sins without hope or mercy. As the Critical Theorists co-opt more groups into this hegemony intolerance against opposing voices will increase until persecution becomes acceptable against Christians. This quietly been the practice throughout much of Africa and is increasing in Europe under the quiet acquiescence of the European Union. Islam has become the militant arm against Christians; wherever they have comer to power, those with opposing viewpoints and beliefs are persecuted. This will continue until they are of no further use then they find themselves under persecution as Satan brooks no faith other than faith in him. The only clarity that provides hope is the Gospel message that promises hope to all who believe regardless of cultural backgrounds. All will be one in Christ forever (Jo 17:14-27). Come while it is still called Today lest you remained hardened by the deceitfulness of sin, the world, and the wiles of the Devil, Come (He 3:12-14; Re 22:17).
