Understanding True Jewry – Healing Wings

Tallit

Tallit (Prayer Shawl)
with Tzitzit (Fringes)

The tallit or Jewish prayer shawl was commanded by God as a garment to remind the Jews that their salvation lay in prayer to Him rather than by works of the Law (Nu 15:37-40). I draw a direct connection between the Jews and prayer in their victory over the Amalekites (Ex 17:8-16). Continue reading “Understanding True Jewry – Healing Wings”

Understanding True Jewry – Their Words

Pestilence-Ancient

Misunderstanding Jewry
Is Death to Everyone

Without a doubt, the Bible is a Jewish book either directly or indirectly; therefore, a correct understanding of biblical Jewry and historic Jewry is essential to proper hermeneutical interpretation of both the Old and New Testaments. Continue reading “Understanding True Jewry – Their Words”

Tree of Knowledge, Death, Life

Ouroboros Triad
Dragon – Satan

Snake – Man
Tree of Knowledge

As I sat to write this final post of the Ouroboros Triad I had to step away for some reflection. The focus of many is on the tree. Was it an apple, a pomegranate, or was it something that had nothing to do with the type of tree at all?  The issue is not the tree, the issue was, and is, the knowledge of good and evil. Continue reading “Tree of Knowledge, Death, Life”

Ouroboros – Circle of Life or Death

Snake – Man (Antichrist)
Tree – Life & Knowledge

The ouroboros is an ancient symbol usually expressing what today would be considered the “circle of life”. The depiction expresses the concept that nothing more is needed other than one’s self. The dragon needs nothing other than itself and all within the circle it created it unified with it’s completeness. Continue reading “Ouroboros – Circle of Life or Death”

Truth of Life or Death

Orvieto, Exterior of the Duomo
The Bible Relief: Original Sin

The snake, or dragon for the Hebrew word does not differentiate between the two, are iconic in ancient and modern cultures. From the very ancient kingdoms to today’s Gnosticism, snakes present as symbols of power, life and spiritual attainment, usually. What does this mean to those who believe they live in a modern (without God) culture free from the superstitions of the past? Continue reading “Truth of Life or Death”

Revolution or Enforced Mediocrity

Bell Curve

Gaussian or Bell Curve Thinking

Modern revolutions claim to promote individuality against the behemoth state hegemony; however, history does not support this claim. The French Revolution’s claim of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity was inherently contradictory since liberty for the individual was suppressed to promote equality of the group; or to put it more simply, mediocrity. Living the Rules or How to Fail

Ten Statements & Cross

Ten Statements Lead to the Cross

People view religion as a set of rules designed to keep people from having fun in order to please God, or at least their idea of God. However, the Bible does not teach living by rules. The Bible does give some rules but not as a means of pleasing God in order to get to “heaven”. So, how did nearly everyone miss the boat on this one? Indoctrination or Natural Rights Fallacy

John Locke

John Locke: Author of Natural Rights

My previous posts on Indoctrination have brought us to the discussion of natural rights which John Locke defended and Thomas Jefferson included in America’s Declaration of Independence. Having said this I believe I need to warn you of this very familiar observation. What one learns first and/or during one’s formative periods tends to become engrained in the bedrock of one’s mind. Indoctrination or What is Education?

Science vs Religion

Indoctrination: Science vs. Religion

This graphic communicates several logical fallacies that forces the reader to accept the author’s conclusions. The first logical fallacy is that faith and science are mutually exclusive; that is, people of faith ignore or reject “facts” in order to maintain their faith while people of science make conclusions based on “facts”. Indoctrination or Training the Youth

Stop Religious Indoctrination Develops "Fee" Thinkers
Stopping Religious Indoctrination
Develops “Fee” Thinkers

The statement of this graphic is as much indoctrination as the indoctrination that the statement condemns.  Yet, even more than that, it contains a self-defeating logical fallacy that is so common today as to be ignored. The reason we will look at indoctrination over the next several posts is because the political season is upon us and full of charges and counter-charges of indoctrination rather than a reasoned discussion of the issues to seek well grounded solutions.
