Logos of God or Logos of Man?

Logos of Man Oft Confused With
Gnosticism – False Knowledge

Isaiah’s ministry was to relay God’s message to he is contemporary Jews to blind them to the truth of God and harden their hearts against His gospel (Is 6:10). If this is true then the obvious conclusion is that God becomes the unjust Judge of sinners. Or, perhaps one is not reading the passage correctly and it is a symptom of one’s Logos that man find guilt with God to excuse his own sin.

Mosaic Law: Repentance Leading to Salvation

Gospel Appears to Replace Mosaic Law
When in fact Christ Fulfilled the Law

If there is one issue that appears to cause much confusion to Christians it is the relationship of the Gospel of Grace to God’s Law given through Moses. Many Christians believe that Christianity is a new religion that replaced the Law which is not taught in Scripture. Continue reading “Mosaic Law: Repentance Leading to Salvation”

Propaganda: Bias of Perspective

Mr. D’Souza’s Excellent Book Reveals
One “Big” Lie While Hiding Another – Bias

I thoroughly enjoyed most of The Big Lie by Mr. Dinesh D’Souza as he uses history to clarify the positions of the Democratic Party of the 19th century and how they developed into Progressivism and then Fascism in the 20th century. I explored these issues in my last post, Lies of the Political Spectrum. Continue reading “Propaganda: Bias of Perspective”

Jonah: A Study in Ridiculousness

Turning Jonah into a caricature
robs this book of its truths

No other Old Testament book elicits more repudiation in the veracity of the Bible than the book of Jonah. The standard belief that a man is swallowed by a fish, survives and then preaches repentance to a very powerful militaristic nation that turns to God is beyond the belief of modern man; as well it should for that is not really the truth of this book. Racism: The Myth of Our Day

This common platitude expresses ignorance
of both the Bible and common observation

Racism is the catchphrase of the day being touted as the major sin and the basis for justifying incredible personal and social violence that has not been seen in America since the heyday of the 1960s. According to Merriam-Webster, racism is “a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.” The above graphic succinctly expresses the ignorance permeating preventing rational discussion of this issue. The problem is violation of the Law of Identity of Logic. Racism demands that there be at least two different races; there is only one race. Continue reading “Racism: The Myth of Our Day”

Soul Winning Done Wrong

Soul Winning Usually Taught as a Technique:
Salesmanship Rather Than  Work of the Spirit

Soul winning, as it is usually called in evangelical circles, by its very title takes a non-Biblical approach to presenting the Gospel of Christ. Unfortunately, it relies on salesmanship techniques to obtain the lost’s attention, convince them of the truth and secure their willingness to say “the prayer” inviting Christ into their heart.  None of these approaches are taught in the Bible and thus are doomed to failure. Government Without Socialism?

Rousseau’s Social Contract
Direct Pathway to Socialism

The father of the French Revolution, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, framed his argument as a social compact (contract in today’s language) between government and its citizens. However, he usually violated Aristotle’s First Law of Logic  (Law of Identity) by not defining his terms; a common problem amongst politicians even today. It’s easier to have the listener define the terms, usually incorrectly, leaving the speaker free to commit the logical fallacy of reification (changing definitions as convenient to his (her) argument. False Premise: America Land of the Free

Symbol of America: Home of the Free
Talks more about America’s Socialism

Discernment is the art of detecting logical fallacies as well as the application of doctrinal truths to everyday life. America’s claim of being the “Home of the Free – Land of the Brave” is instilled in every school child but less truth than propaganda for the state. The Government We Deserve

International Best Seller Defining
Utopia of Military Socialism

Government is a true religion: it has its dogmas, its mysteries, its priests. To submit it to the individual discussion is to destroy it; it is given life only through the national mind, that is to say, by political faith, which is a creed” {Joseph de Maistre}. On this Memorial Day when Americans claim to mourn those who gave their lives defending America it is only fitting that we who are alive clearly understand what this holiday really means. Postmodernism Not So Modern After All

Postmodernism: Redefining Reality
Justifying Sin – Revealing Nihilism

The more I study the Bible the more I realize that modern philosophy, especially postmodernism, is not so new revealing the wisdom of the Preacher, “…there is nothing new under the sun” (Ec 1:9-11). Postmodernism is nothing more than existentialism (method of defining oneself by oneself (2Co 10:12)) and nihilism (result of existentialism (Ec 1:14)).
