America’s Confusion of Liberty or Equality

Liberty vs Equality since our Beginnings

America’s Confusion of Liberty or Equality:
Rejection of the Excluded Middle?

The hubris of all societies is their absolute belief they alone possess absolute, inherent, common sense Truth! When this is coupled with religious faith, which all governments are based on religious beliefs governing their definitions of right (good) and wrong (evil), wars against differing beliefs are inevitable. Modern Americans guided in their beliefs by public educators whose sole focus is to teach what government deems to be true in essence prize ignorance above knowledge and slogans above intellectual comprehension. If the reverse were true propaganda would be much less effective. Today’s struggle of liberty versus equality appears new with the latest generation siding with equality, socialism, against the older generation confusingly siding with less equality and even less liberty. John Randolph of Roanoke (Virginia) whose quote is furnished above was not such a man. He spoke with clarity, eloquence and truthfulness. Perhaps if we were more educated in our own history we would be less susceptible to its rewriting by politicians and financiers shepherding us along to their Great Reset. General Will to General Welfare to Democracy Achieving Socialism

Propaganda of General Will as General Welfare Promoting Socialism

General Will to General Welfare to
Democracy Achieving Socialism

It has dawned on me that while Rousseau’s directly applied philosophy in France failed; it spectacularly succeeded indirectly in America! Americans have been educated, propagandized, to believe that the Constitution and Declaration of Independence are similar, and thus, compatible philosophical documents. The Declaration of Independence embodied Locke’s Social Contract based on natural or God-given rights; a concept not grounded in the Bible as declared by its advocates. The Constitution took a different bent and thanks to the diligence of the Federalists became the successor to Rousseau’s Social Contract vision. What the Federalists envisioned and the Republicans began, today’s Democrats are completing. Though clothed in different vocabulary, Rousseau’s General Will never died but morphed through various terminologies to become today’s Critical Theory agitating for tomorrow’s Socialism under the banner of Democracy. Second Amendment Militia Myth

All Really Means Some

Second Amendment Given by God Some Say
Historically It Only Applied to the Franchised

One of the most hotly debated topics today is gun control: For or Against. American Constitution’s Second Amendment Militia Myth has caused its detractors to resort to their own myths. In reality, this discussion has simply become a battle of myths supported by propaganda cliches that block discussion and detract from the true goal: Evangelization. Is Constitution a Piece of Paper?

Either Constitution has inherent authority or it does not

Law of Excluded Middle: Either the
Constitution Does or Does Not Work

Is Constitution a piece of paper? Every school child has been taught that the Constitution is inviolate. Nearly every president, Congress and Supreme Court has determined that the Constitution is anything but inviolate! The modern debate vacillates between these two extremes. As Lysander Spooner aptly pointed out, either the Constitution is the source of our government or it is simply a template without power except as given to it by its current interpreters. There are no other options, this is the Law of Excluded Middle. One is either saved or one is lost, there is no other option in the Bible would be another example of this law. But, we must satisfy the Law of Identity; that is, we must define our word Constitution and look at its historical source through the eyes of those who wrote the document.

Fallacy of Natural Law

Natural Philosopher Expert
Pontificating on Natural Law

Every school person knows that America’s Constitution was founded on  natural law. But, what does that term mean? One definition of natural law states, “unwritten body of universal moral principles that underlie the ethical and legal norms by which human conduct is sometimes evaluated and governed. Natural law is often contrasted with positive law, which consists of the written rules and regulations enacted by government (Free Dictionary.).” This definition, as do many others, give the impression that natural law is not a unitary force but a competing force against positive law. I discussed the unnaturalness of natural law in a previous post (Unnaturalness of Natural Law.). Continue reading “Fallacy of Natural Law”

Unnaturalness of Natural Law

America’s Declaration Birthed by
John Locke’s Natural Law

Thomas Jefferson was heavily influenced by John Locke’s natural law philosophy when he penned America’s Declaration of Independence. This philosophy describes the divide between Conservatives, who believe in natural law, and the Liberals who appear to follow Thomas Hobbes philosophy of legal rights conferred by one’s reigning governmental system. Evangelical Christians have frequently joined the Conservatives because of some supposed belief that natural law is derived from God thus obligating them to adhere to the Conservatives. However, did John Locke draw his philosophy from the Bible? Is there bible verses that support natural law? Christians should care because we are morally obligated to follow Scripture and must be able to discern the truth of this matter to prevent us from inadvertently supporting Satan. This is the heart of this post.

Remembering the Victims, Honoring God

A concept image of liberty showing a pistol and rifle with the constitution booklet on the American flag,

Another Mass Slaughter
Another Cry for Political Action
Another Opportunity to Use the Victims

News came today about the mass murder in Orlando, FL, at the Pulse Club, a club frequented by gays. The shooter has been tentatively identified as Omar Mateen, with possible extremist Islamic leanings. The President has been briefed and will be continually updated. Unfortunately, this heading has become all too common, all too often. Continue reading “Remembering the Victims, Honoring God”

American Politics in a Nutshell

Truth from Kierkegaard

American Politics in a Nutshell

I am amazed at the amount of confusion as to why certain presidential candidates are leading despite the obvious foolishness of their so-called positions. The Bible states {paraphrased} that in a democratic society people will elect people that tell them what they want to hear (2Ti 4:3-4). Continue reading “American Politics in a Nutshell”
