The Government We Deserve

International Best Seller Defining
Utopia of Military Socialism

Government is a true religion: it has its dogmas, its mysteries, its priests. To submit it to the individual discussion is to destroy it; it is given life only through the national mind, that is to say, by political faith, which is a creed” {Joseph de Maistre}. On this Memorial Day when Americans claim to mourn those who gave their lives defending America it is only fitting that we who are alive clearly understand what this holiday really means.

The above graphic depicts a modern cover of an older novel detailing the glorious merits of military socialism. The author, Edward Bellamy, had visited Germany and came home with this new view called socialism but not in the vein of Marx but as interpreted by the newly reunited American government. The American government was saved by the sacrifices of the Union military in the Civil War. The apparent allure of order and lack of ambiguity in military society prompted an altered view of socialism based on the military model; hence, military socialism.

This would be simply an academic exercise no worthy of your time except for one or two little details. Edward’s cousin, Francis Bellamy, wanted to educate future Americans, both natural born and immigrants, in the faith of this new America so it would never be threatened by division again. He developed what has come to be known as the “Pledge of Allegiance“. This little ditty developed for the Columbia Exposition (1892) {400th year since Columbus discovered America}. He agitated to have it recited in every school in America at the start of each day. He beat the Frankfurt School to the understanding of the importance of education in indoctrinating a country’s future adults before they are aware of being programmed.

Salute Accompanying the Pledge of
Allegiance Pre-dating Nazism

Several influences came together to develop a form of worship that remains with us today. Francis Bellamy, from a Baptist ministry background, had become part of the Christian Socialist movement which in itself was part of a larger socialism movement in America. Francis Bellamy had a two-fold purpose: 1) indoctrinate children into the worship of this new republic (the America that emerged from the war was vastly different from the America that entered the war and probably could not qualify for the label of Republic and 2) sale American flags  by the Youth’s Companion magazine for which he worked. He and Mr. Upham were able to move forward with this plan because of the profound influence of his cousin’s novel on the “movers and shakers” in the educational community of the day to include John Dewey.

Marx viewed his brand of socialism {communism} as a means to develop an international or globalization movement. This gauntlet was picked up by Lenin and remained the goal of Soviet Communism until the demise of the USSR. However, Francis Bellamy, through the use of the pledge, had a different view in mind for socialism. He saw socialism, patterned on the military model, as the means of insuring nationalism against the burgeoning influences of globalization then occurring. The children saying the pledge everyday coinciding with their indoctrination {education is not the main emphasis of public education} classes was the perfect mechanism for developing model future citizens. The development of the Boy Scouting movement in England {by then socialist Baden-Powell} was the perfect vehicle to further the reach of national socialism at the local level. Both the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts modeled themselves after the military socialism movement fostering nationalism over globalization.

These movements came together at a propitious moment in American, and world history. A generation of children were now entering adulthood and through the revolution of 1913 America was ready to enter the international arena  of World War I through a mandatory conscription army {technically when serving against one’s will that is the definition of slavery}. America’s slaughter in this conflict was slight compared to the butchery Europe experienced. America was undeterred and pushed itself into World War II. The winning of this conflict required vast amounts of people which were readily available due to the military socialism indoctrination of the population. However, it also raised embarrassing problems. Though American propaganda promoted the war as a conflict between liberty {freedom} and fascism {dictatorship} it was in fact a conflict between socialisms!

Wilson had actively introduced progressivism to America which was continued by both his Republican and Democratic successors. Hoover’s half-hearted attempts at socialism during the early days of the Great Depression brought FDR into office who whole-heartedly implemented socialism on a national scale. He was successful in his endeavors because he brow-beat the Supreme Court which was declaring his programs un-Constitutional and his propaganda machinery which misrepresented the success of his programs. America was for all intents a socialist nation but a national socialist nation in the same vein as Hitler’s Germany; but, there was a difference.

Hitler had issues with Jewry which had issues with him. He saw Jewry as against German nationalism and made moves to be independent of this internationalizing influence. In turn, international Jewry declared war on Germany in 1933 {full text here}. The allied socialists welcomed Jewry into the fold needing their assistance in the coming war; and the rest they say, is history. From World War II came the United Nations and the formation of the Zionist nation of Israel promoting the ongoing violence of Islam that is today’s world. Without understanding history Christians take sides when all these sides are against God.

“…I am raising up in the land a
shepherd who does not care…”

God, through Zechariah, states He will raise up a shepherd who does not care for those being destroyed (Ze 11:16). This shepherd participates in devouring those he is supposed to protect. These are the False Jews who promote globalization. Though the national socialists have obtained some small victory they are also anti-God. Christians in America need to neither agitate for or against government but press the Gospel which presses the message of hope that is oblivious to governments. Pilate could find no fault in Christ for this very reason though he condemned Him to death to appease Jewry who rejected their Messiah. This is not an anti-Jewry nor an anti-government post but a pro-Gospel urging to continue the good work until He comes. The governments we live under, wherever we live, are the governments we deserve {also a quote from Joseph de Maistre}, this is because lost man believes the lie. Government is modern man’s religion. Churches of the Reformation became state churches. Evangelical churches today promote government as an extension of the gospel rather than independent of the Gospel. The more Christians understand their history the more they realize they need to study their Bibles. This Memorial Day is sad because of the wasted lives in support of the false religion of government by men and women who, if not saved, lost eternity with Christ for a false hope. I mourn for their eternal loss.
